Walk-in bath or level access shower ?  - Adaptec Group

A question we regularly get asked is….

‘Should we go for a walk-in bath or level access shower?’

The answer to this is not a straightforward one. There are many elements to your new bathroom which influence which product suits your needs the best.

Now like most, if your bathroom does not afford you the luxury of being able to have both due to size, shape, location of door and window this choice can really be a difficult decision.

There are people that like white wine and those that like red. The same can be said about what people prefer – having a bath or shower.

The great thing about a walk-in bath is it removes all the difficulty a traditional bath presents. The lockable, full sealed door makes entering and exiting the bath very simple, made even more so if a bath seat is included which rises and falls.

A level access shower has multiple benefits. A preferred option with Occupational Therapist (OT) across the UK, a level access shower can provide any ageing user with a real sense of freedom and prolonged independence which can be invaluable.

So what is the best option for you? This really is personal choice. What would you or your partner use if you had the choice? Which one suits your lifestyle? Are you going to enjoy a bath a few times a week or a daily shower?

Why not talk with one of our specialists bathroom designers who can with the assistance of our in-house OT provide you with excellent resources and options available to you.
