Thanks to its versatile design, the Closomat Vita range is very easy to install in almost all circumstances, be it the floor-mounted Palma Vita or the wall-mounted Lima Vita.

Just one touch of a button takes care of everything. No complicated controls, no having to press two or three times. In fact, a completely hands-free option is available.
Simply activate the toilet via your chosen method and it will flush, wash and dry.
One push of the elbow pad activates a highly effective flush, wash and drying cycle. Alternatively, this can be operated by a remote control, a movement-sensitive ‘Proxy’ switch or the most popular pneumatic hand/ foot switch. UK manufactured from high-grade materials including stainless steel spray arm, impact resistant UV-protected plastics and ceramic bowl, manufactured in Closomat’s own factory in the Potteries.
Note 1. Closomat Product Specialists can work on behalf of First Class Wetrooms with the client and Occupational Therapist either remotely or in person, suitably protected by PPE, to ensure the Palma Vita specified perfectly meets the needs of the user.
Note 2. A wall-hung version of the Palma Vita, called the Lima Vita is also available.

The Palma Vita has been purpose-designed to combine a conventional WC with integrated washing and drying.
It is the only toilet of its kind, specifically developed for elderly and disabled people, that is designed to properly support the user AND position them correctly for effective washing and drying.
Please note that a wall-hung version is available in the Lima Vita.

ACCESSORIES
ntegrated Fold Down Support Arms
- Robust and secure support arms designed and manufactured specifically for the Closomat. This convenient support system not only folds out of the way to aid side transfer from a wheelchair, it also has a number of additions that can further aid the user’s stability.
Soft Arm Sleeves
- Easy to fit, the Soft Arm Sleeves provide a comfortable, hygienic and stylish dimension to the Integrated Fold-down Support Arms.
Lateral Body Supports
- These easily adjustable and comfortable additions help to provide extra support and stability to the user, in conjunction with the Integrated Fold-down Support Arms
Alternative Douche Arms
- Extended Single Spray or Twin Spray.
- All douche options are included in the price of the Palma Vita. Douche arm illustrated is standard with the Palma Vita.
Plinths
- Plinths are used to raise the whole unit. For use with a shower chair or to aid direct wheelchair transfer. Plinths come in heights of 25, 50, 75 and 100mm.
Touch Sensitive Switch
- This device is for those users who are unable to use the standard elbow pads. Air operated, no electricity is required to operate it, only very light pressure.
Proxy Switch
- Making use of “passive technology” the Closomat Proxy Switch allows users with little or no grip to activate the unit, simply by passing their hand / body-part in front of the sensor.
Infrared Remote Control
- This simplistic ‘push and go’ style infrared control provides a versatile option lending itself particularly well when used by carers.
Soft Seats
- Options available are Junior, Adult and Adult Open Fronted. All soft seats are supplied in a dark blue colour to aid the visually impaired.
Big John Seat
- The Big John bariatric toilet seat is essential for anyone who is larger framed. With an increased seating area and weight capacity, the Big John toilet seat provides a safer and more comfortable platform for larger clients.
Infill Panel

The Infill Panel has been designed to aid installations where pipe-work inhibits the Palma Vita from being located against the wall. The Infill Panel is available in thickness sizes 25mm, 50mm & 75mm. The infill panel is 100mm taller than the Palma Vita. It must be cut from the bottom to suit finished toilet height.
Specification – Douche
There are 3 douche arm operations available:
Standard
- For anal cleansing.
- Suitable for male and female.
Single Extended Spray
- Normally for “gynaecological” use in hospitals.
- Occasionally specified when a client cannot sit far enough back for effective anal cleansing with standard douche.
- Fitted for use with Chailey support or Blue Wave support systems Can be used for elderly female urinary incontinence.
Extended Twin Spray
Only suitable for disabled females who desire to wash “front and back” simultaneously.
- TWIN SPRAY IS NOT SUITABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE SPECIFIED FOR MALE USE.
- With twin spray the volume of warm washing water is significantly decreased i.e. “warm” wash will not last as long.
- The purpose of twin spray is not to “wash twice as well” nor to “wash a larger area” and should not be specified for all female users unless there is a specific requirement as described above.
- The “front” wash of single and twin extended douche arms is angled back at 15° from vertical to effectively wash the vaginal area and to avoid faecal contamination of the perineum. The drying function of the Clos-o-Mat is significantly compromised (the drying air is discharged from the back of the pan i.e. directed towards the front).
- Temperature and pressure of the wash are both reduced for washing the front of the body and this reduces effectiveness of anal cleansing.
- Where anal cleansing is the prime reason for deciding to buy a shower toilet then standard douche should be specified.
Specification – Water
Water
- Cold water service only; water supply can be from level storage or mains
- The Clos-o-Mat is supplied with 15mm copper spigot and isolating valve on cold water supply.
No external hot water supply is required.
Soil Connection
- Outlets are suitable for ‘P’ trap through the wall (220mm floor to centre) or ‘S’ trap through the floor (70mm–250mm finished wall to centre).
- Suitable for left hand and right hand turned trap applications.
Overflow
- The Clos-o-Mat has an internal overflow which discharges into the W.C. pan through the flush valve.
Further Notes
- No permanent hand rails or other obstructions should be fitted across the front or top of the unit. The white outer case has to be pulled upwards and forward to remove for service access
- If extended douche option is specified, space must be made to accommodate douche arm which extends beyond rear of casing.
- Optional infill panel available to avoid need to chase wall. Unit can be fitted away from rear wall if required.
